As a partner of the Team Lucerne – Suisse you join an initiative which is dedicated to one of the great social challenges of our time.
We cordially invite you, as a sponsor and partner of the Team Lucerne – Suisse, to participate in our project for the Solar Decathlon Europe. The partnership opportunities are adapted according to the capacity and needs of your business. The identification of our partners with the aims of the competition is very important to us, as is the development of a beneficial, long-term partnership. We are excited to share in this experience with you!
In reference to the term Decathlon in the name Solar Decathlon, the competition is separated into ten disciplines. In each of the ten disciplines between 80 and 120 points are reached, a maximum of 1000 points are possible. Criteria such as sustainability, communication and architecture will be evaluated by the jury of experts, while others are determined by measurements.
More options and less floor space with intelligent layout and more usable living and working space
For urban planning implementation, we chose the example of a heterogeneous quarter in Lucerne with an ideal infrastructure. Our development plans four different buildings that are networked with each other, while also remaining in contact with neighbouring buildings.
Our project has three types of rooms, each with different uses. my room has the greatest intimacy and is used privately by one person. our room is the kitchen and dining area, which can be used by two to five other people depending on the situation. your room is the most public part of our project – since everyone is able to rent it according to his/her requirements. That creates added value such as efficient use of space, social synergies, flexible use potential and low overall rent costs. The three different room types are connected by space+, which serves as a lively, communicative connecting element with a wide range of use potential.
Three different room types connected by the space+ – in the urban context as well as in the prototype
From that urban planning context, we chose an example of each room type, developed our prototype for the competition in Versailles and connected the rooms to the space+ unit.
So we generate a prototype, with which we present our concept at the Solar Decathlon Europe 2014 in Versailles.
Cutting-like plan of the urban project
The Solar Decathlon is a demanding university competition in the field of sustainable construction. It is alternately held every year in Europe and America, with competitions now taking place in Asia as well. The aim of the competition is to promote solar technologies and innovation in buildings. The Solar Decathlon involves up to 20 teams from all over the world as participants each year.
In the summer of 2014, the competition will be hosted for the first time in Paris, Versailles (France). Twenty pavilions, which are designed and built by student teams from around the world, will be made public and evaluated in the ten disciplines by a jury.
